Mahindra & Mahindra has officially introduced the Thar Roxx Star Edition, a new variant designed for the lifestyle off-road SUV segment in India. Launched on January 23, 2026, this special edition carries an introductory ex-showroom price starting at Rs 16.85 lakh. It will be available across three powertrain configurations, aiming to enhance both aesthetics and onboard technology for consumers.
Powertrain and Performance
The Thar Roxx Star Edition is offered with two engine options: a 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine and a 2.2-liter diesel unit. The petrol engine delivers 152 bhp and 320 Nm of torque when paired with an automatic transmission. The diesel engine produces 132 bhp and 300 Nm of torque. Both manual and automatic transmission options are available, depending on the chosen variant. For enhanced capability, the SUV includes selectable terrain modes for Snow, Sand, and Mud.
Exterior and Interior Enhancements
Visually distinguishing the Roxx Star Edition are its piano-black grille and 19-inch piano-black alloy wheels. The special edition maintains the lighting package from the standard model, featuring LED projector headlamps with integrated DRLs, LED fog lamps, and LED taillamps. A panoramic sunroof is also part of the exterior package. Inside, the cabin receives a sporty black theme, highlighted by all-black leatherette seats accented with Suede. The model is available in four exterior colors: Citrine Yellow, Stealth Black, Everest White, and Tango Red.
Key Feature Additions
The interior is equipped with a range of modern amenities. A 26.03-inch HD digital instrument cluster and a similarly sized HD touchscreen infotainment system are central to the dashboard. The infotainment unit supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, both wired and wireless, and integrates the Adrenox connected car technology with Alexa built-in, providing access to 83 connected features. Audio is managed by a 9-speaker Harman Kardon sound system. Additional comfort and convenience features include front ventilated seats, a sliding armrest, 60:40 split rear seats with multi-point recline, steering-mounted controls, electric-fold ORVMs, fully automatic climate control, and cruise control. Safety provisions encompass six airbags, front and rear parking sensors with a rear camera, a tire pressure monitoring system, an auto-dimming IRVM, impact-sensing auto door unlock, and an immobilizer.

Mahindra has set introductory ex-showroom prices for the Thar Roxx Star Edition across its three variants:
- Diesel-Manual RWD: Rs 16.85 lakh
- Petrol-Automatic RWD: Rs 17.85 lakh
- Diesel-Automatic RWD: Rs 18.35 lakh
