Mahindra Thar Range Receives Price Adjustment for 2026 as Facelift Testing Continues

Mahindra & Mahindra has announced a price revision for its popular lifestyle SUV, the Thar, effective January 2026. This adjustment follows a series of feature enhancements introduced in late 2025 and comes as the manufacturer prepares for a more comprehensive aesthetic and functional update expected later this year. Anticipated 2026 Thar Facelift

Recent sightings of camouflaged test mules suggest that a facelifted version of the three-door Thar is slated for a release during the 2026 festive season. This upcoming iteration is expected to borrow premium styling cues from the larger Thar Roxx. Key exterior modifications likely include circular LED headlamps with integrated DRLs, a redesigned front grille, and updated bumpers. The vehicle may also adopt 19-inch alloy wheels. Interior upgrades are projected to include a digital TFT instrument cluster, ventilated front seating, push-button start, and a single-pane sunroof, aligning it more closely with modern consumer expectations.

January 2026 Pricing Structure

For the current model year, Mahindra has applied a uniform price increase of Rs 20,000 across the LXT trim levels. Notably, the entry-level AXT 1.5L Diesel 2WD manual variant remains unaffected, maintaining its price point of Rs 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The revised pricing for the LXT lineup is as follows:

  • LXT 1.5L Diesel 2WD MT: Rs 12.39 lakh
  • LXT 2.0L Petrol 2WD AT: Rs 14.19 lakh
  • 4WD Petrol MT: Rs 14.89 lakh
  • 4WD Diesel MT: Rs 15.69 lakh
  • 4WD Petrol AT: Rs 16.45 lakh
  • 4WD Diesel AT: Rs 17.19 lakh

The price adjustments reflect the ongoing demand for the Thar, which continues to maintain a dominant position in the off-road lifestyle segment despite increasing competition in the Indian market.
