Mahindra has announced a price revision for the Thar lifestyle SUV in India. While the majority of the variants have seen a price increase of Rs 20,000, the manufacturer has opted to keep the entry-level AXT Diesel 2WD pricing stable at Rs 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom). This update is effective immediately across the country.
Revised Pricing and Trim Levels
With this latest adjustment, the Thar range now spans from Rs 9.99 lakh to Rs 17.19 lakh. The increase applies to both the AXT and LXT trim lines, covering petrol and diesel powertrains in both rear-wheel drive (2WD) and four-wheel drive (4WD) configurations. Specifically, the LXT Diesel 2WD MT is now priced at Rs 12.39 lakh, while the range-topping LXT Diesel 4WD AT has moved to Rs 17.19 lakh.
Mechanical Specifications
The Thar continues to be offered with three distinct engine options, following its mid-cycle refresh in 2025. The powertrain lineup includes:
- 1.5-litre Diesel: Produces 119hp and is paired exclusively with a manual transmission.
- 2.0-litre Turbo-petrol: Delivers 152hp, available with both manual and automatic gearboxes.
- 2.2-litre Diesel: Generates 132hp, offered with manual and automatic options and standard 4WD.
The 2.0-litre petrol engine is available with optional 4WD, whereas the 1.5-litre diesel variant remains a 2WD offering. All prices mentioned are ex-showroom, India.
