Skoda has officially unveiled the refreshed Kushaq, its best-selling SUV in India, featuring a significant update including a segment-first comfort feature. The facelifted model is slated for launch by March 2026, aiming to enhance its appeal in the competitive compact SUV market.
Segment-First Rear Massaging Seats
A notable addition to the 2026 Skoda Kushaq facelift is the introduction of rear massaging seats, a feature typically found in premium luxury vehicles. This single-setting massage function, integrated into the backrests of the rear seats, will be available exclusively on the top-tier Prestige and Monte Carlo trims. While several competitors offer rear ventilated seats, the Kushaq’s rear massage functionality differentiates it within its segment. The next vehicle in Skoda’s lineup to receive a massage function is the Kodiaq, which will feature a front-only massage system.
Interior and Technology Upgrades
Beyond the new seating comfort, the Kushaq facelift integrates a range of contemporary features. The cabin receives a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display and a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, alongside a panoramic sunroof. Front occupants benefit from powered and ventilated seats, while connectivity options include wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. For safety, the SUV is equipped with 6 airbags as standard.

However, advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) and a 360-degree camera system are notably absent from the feature list.
Refreshed Exterior Design
The exterior design of the Kushaq has undergone a substantial refresh, adopting design cues from its larger sibling, the Kodiaq. Key styling updates include an illuminated front grille and sharper headlights. The rear now features connected taillights, contributing to a more modern and upscale appearance.
Powertrain Options and New Transmission
Under the hood, the Kushaq retains its existing powertrain options: the 1.0-liter TSI and 1.5-liter TSI turbocharged petrol engines. Transmission choices include a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed DSG automatic. A new 8-speed torque converter automatic has been added to the lineup, offering an additional transmission option for buyers.
Market Positioning and Expected Pricing
The introduction of luxury-oriented features like rear massaging seats suggests Skoda’s strategy to elevate the Kushaq’s perceived value and compete with higher-segment offerings on comfort. While official pricing for the Prestige and Monte Carlo trims is yet to be announced, industry expectations place the on-road price in Mumbai at approximately Rs 20 Lakh. This pricing strategy aims to position the Kushaq as a premium offering within its category, making such features accessible at a more affordable price point compared to luxury sedans and SUVs.
