2026 Renault Duster Unveiled in India: Third-Generation SUV Shifts to CMF-B Platform

Renault has officially introduced the third-generation Duster in the Indian market, marking a strategic return for the nameplate. By bypassing the second-generation model entirely, the French manufacturer has brought the latest iteration of the SUV, built upon the modular CMF-B platform, to compete in the mid-size segment.

Powertrain and Mechanical Specifications

The 2026 Duster lineup transitions to an all-petrol strategy, discarding diesel options in favor of turbocharged efficiency. The primary performance offering is a 1.3-litre HR13 turbo-petrol engine producing 156bhp. A secondary 1.0-litre petrol unit, derived from the Kiger but optimized for the Duster’s larger frame, will also be available. Both engines are expected to be paired with manual and automatic transmission choices to cater to different driver preferences.

Design and Structural Changes

Measuring roughly 4.3 metres in length, the new Duster retains the upright proportions of its predecessor while adopting the brand’s latest design language. Key exterior elements include:

  • Y-shaped LED daytime running lights and matching C-shaped rear lamps.
  • Squared-off wheel arches with integrated body cladding.
  • A redesigned front grille featuring Renault lettering.
  • New alloy wheel designs and functional roof rails.

The shift to the CMF-B architecture represents a significant technical upgrade, aimed at enhancing safety standards and refinement levels.

Interior Layout and Technology

The cabin undergoes a comprehensive overhaul, moving toward a more digitized environment. The dashboard is expected to house a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system compatible with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. For the driver, a 7-inch digital display replaces traditional analog gauges. Notable convenience and safety features include:

  • A panoramic sunroof and wireless charging capabilities.
  • A 360-degree camera system for improved visibility.
  • An Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) suite.
  • Hexagonal-themed interior elements with a driver-focused center console.
